Oromo not Omo
Apparently Sira forgot he is Oromo and confused the word with Omo. As in the Omo Valley, a virgin environment fed by the Omo River made up of many different tribes, traditions, cultures, and wildlife located in southwestern Ethiopia. The famous Mursi inhabit this land (you know, the women wear plates in their lower lips). This is a region on my must-see-before-I-die list. Jerry is less excited about facing the major moral dilemmas that go along with such trips. It's hard not to picture fat bellies, flipped up sun shades, and dull colored clothing awkwardly encircling these tribes in an obnoxious photo frenzy. Sira, however, is ready to go.

Wow... my wash machine feels for your wash machine!
love the mud! Lucy would be right there with him ... how fun
Just wanted to say...that is adorable and I love how you let your boys explore, play, discover, and live. We are out in Oregon. I think you would like it here!
Oh Mrs. Six of Us, I surely do love Oregon. I lived in the Pacific Northwest (Calif) for many years and that's where I feel most at home. Give me a redwood forest over prairie anyday (shhh, don't tell my husband).
And FYI, I didn't "let" Sira dive into the ash pile, he did it while my back was turned for a wee bit too long. But I do, however, let them explore freely barefoot and all (you did notice the lack of shoes, right?).
:)
Kids and mud were made for each other. Our best memories with our kids involve some kind of dirt/sand/muck.
This is hysterical!!!
I was just whining at T tonight because he is so feisty, opinionated and stubborn! His excuse - "because I am Oromo."
Cindy I am feeling for you...you've got it x 3!
There is nothing quite like mud wrestling on a hot summer afternoon!
I love it! What a great post!
