Kitchen Camper

It's what, 10:00, 11:00? Friday night. Boys snug in their beds, mom and dad partying like rock stars. Then, oops, I stumble out my bedroom door and run into this (Tsega) about three feet away on the kitchen floor.

No jammies. That is the usual way we find Tsega by morning. But in his room, sometimes our bed, not usually in the kitchen.

Party on, Sira.

I just found your blog - I love your family! I'm not religious, and I'm not big on fate, but your family feels whole to me, there's a roundness a completeness that comes through in your pictures and writing. Ya'll belong to each other!

Okay, that comment feels unfinished to me. My kid's dad and I always intended to have one child and adopt another. After our first daughter, we were ready to get fixed and turn our eyes towards adoption, when I found myself in deep mourning. Something in me knew that there was another baby that could only come to us if I gave birth to her. So we had another home made baby, and realized that we could not have done without her.
Your family strikes me the same way. I don't know what road took you towards the adoption of your three beautiful boys, but it seems inevitable-as though they were always yours, and that was the only road you could take. Don't know if that's any clearer, but it's heartfelt!

The big kid cracks me up. He reminds me so much of my big kid sometimes.

Your dad thinks the first picture of Tsega should be in a museum. He thinks Tsega looks really pensive:)
