Lolly
He's sweeter than a sucker. His eyes dissapear when he smiles. Sweeet. I'm not sure how we spiraled down this road (the TV, action movie, & fast food roads have all been hit) but the sugar has got to stop. That is, we've got to stop using it as a parenting tool. Oh, forget it, it works. But this I promise, in front of everybody, the video game road will never be traveled in my house!
How is it that Tsega's curls suddenly hang ? They used to reach out and kiss the sky and now he has . . . bangs. Go curls, whether up, out, or down.
By the way . . . have you noticed? . . . this kid is huge!

WHAT HAPPENED? WHEN DID YOUR KIDS GROW?
I guess there is a benefit to your blog slacking approach - we get to gasp in shock at the fact that children do, in fact, grow.
I'll leave the sugar debate alone, but I just have to say that that is one of the most beautiful headfuls of curls that I've seen in a LONG time, especially on a boy. Rock on!
He is so beautiful!! And his hair is stunning.
good luck on the video game moratorium!!
you'll have better luck with banning sugar! or water, or air!
What is your hair care routine? I love my son's curls and want to keep his hair long (well, he just got it shaved...maybe next time)
Tsega's hair requires not so much work. It's soooo ultra thick that it doesn't mess up, matt, or tangle much.
Our daily routine (like all my boys): wet hair with spray bottle, spray Blended Beauties detangler just enough to cover head area (we also use Qhemet time to time but I prefer BB), might add some coconut oil for extra moisture (this adds a little curl hold too), smooth products through with a boar bristle brush and then brush more thourougly with a half n half boar:vent brush I guess you call it (grocery store finds).
All my boys get saturated with Curly Q's conditioner a couple times a week during bath which I just leave in (no spoo unless really dirty). They all need a good comb out a few times a month too during bath. For Tsega's hair it's important I section off with large clips and work on one section at a time (first brushing out then combing each section). I'm odd in that I don't comb a lot (too painful and the brush detangles pretty well).
Bereket and Sira hair is much thinner, finer, and wants to get fuzzy, so after same morning hair routine as Tsega, they get a very small plop of BB's Happy Nappy cream which is magic for curl definition and makes it a little coarser so curls stay neat.
HTH! One can become lost in the sea of good and too many products. When at a loss, use coconut oil! :)
I'm diggin' on the argyle sweater vest. Super cute curls, too!
LOVE the curls!
I love the sweater vest too! I can't get Sira or Bereket to wear one! I just realized how lucky we've been cuz I didn't buy one item of clothing T is wearing in these shots! We were blessed with a big bag of groovy from a now 5 year old, and grandmas bought the rest. :)
He is a handsome boy!
And gorgeous!
thanks for detailing their hair routine. tried it this morning with the twins and it worked great! their curls looked full and did not frizz.
I agree... his hair is drop dead gorgeous!!! Holy moly.
